Back to the Fun Stuff

November 17, 2008

So last week was pretty somber for the most part here at the Fitness Geek. Now it’s back to the fun stuff. First, I ran four miles on Saturday. It felt good and had even less shin achiness later in the day. Tomorrow’s run should be great.

On Saturday I’m running the local Turkey Trot race. I’m hoping for sub-Parrot suit time somewhere around 24 minutes. Mrs. Fitness Geek will be doing the one-mile walk. Irony alert: She’s a vegetarian, so she doesn’t eat turkey. And she’s not a runner, so she won’t be trotting either. I hope they still let her take part. :)

Also with Mrs. Fitness Geek, she’s got coupons for more than half off 30-page photo books. If you want one, e-mail me at schulmanwriter@gmail.com. Here’s the whole shebang in her words from her blog:

“I love photo books. I made photo books of our wedding for our grandparents the first Christmas we were married. I think they make great gifts for others as well as keepsakes for ourselves. Plus, they’re fun to make. I have 10 coupon codes for a discount of more than half off of photo books if any of you are interested in making one either as a gift or to keep for yourselves. You get a 30-page photo book for $11.99, which is a fabulous price.”

We had a nice weekend. Spent Saturday with her family then caught up on Office, My Name is Earl and 30 Rock. The best line came from 30 Rock and was courtesy of Liz about her crazy, nympho friend: “She’s like a human Macarena; something everyone did at parties in 1996.”

  1. I have never made photo books but I do make scrapbooks – its like my signature gift. I make them and give them out ALOT!! Its alot of fun to get pictures and put them all together for people.

  2. That’s so generous of your wife. Virtual fellow-vegetarian fist bump to her on Thanksgiving! I spent some quality time with 30 Rock this weekend, too.

  3. This is hilarious – Sarah Palin was the best thing to ever happen to 30Rock. We just finished the first season not 20 minutes ago.

And mad props to the vegetarian half of the couple! I feel ya, sister! Mmmm…tofurkey! (Actually, I have never had it – although I do miss ham, which we sometimes have in addition to turkey during our Thanksgiving).

Are the coupon codes good in Canada?

  4. @ Brad…as a vegetarian who has tried a Tofurkey…don’t bother! You can seriously make a million recipes way more appetizing than that disgusting lump of possibly plastic.

And yeah…30 Rock is the best show on television right now, that’s for sure. Well, right after Boston Legal.

  5. i don’t eat the tofurkey. i use the vegetarian turkey slices (worthington, i believe), fold them up and put stuffing in them. yummy!
